CANTON, MISSISSIPPI (by Renee Cotton, April 18, 2012) - Madison River Oaks Medical Center has named Mary Katherine Duncan as the new manager of Health Information Management. In this role, Duncan is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of all patient medical records, including medical record completion and maintenance, coding and filing. Duncan is a recent graduate of the University of Mississippi Medical Center with a master of Health Science degree in healthcare leadership. She, also, holds a bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from UMMC and an associate of science in Healthcare Information Technology from Meridian Community College.
Prior to joining MRO’s staff, Duncan served as Assistant Director of Health Information Management at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian. She, also, has experience in the fields of performance improvement and real estate. Duncan was certified as a Registered Health Information Administrator in 2009.
